What a glorious weekend to play footy, the sun was shining, the pitches were soft underfoot and there was no wind to speak of. The famous Yarrawarrah Oval hosted another 4 games this weekend and we put on quite a show, so much so, that many of the opposition teams said it was the most enjoyable match day their players and teams had experienced.

We must also give a shout out to parents and spectators for helping us keep everyone safe by following the Covid-19 requirements and practicing safe social distancing. We know this is inconvenient for many people but we appreciate your ongoing support and assistance in helping us comply with our safety plan.

A big thank you to all Tigers Committee Members, Volunteers, Managers, Coaches and Trainers for everything you do to make match day such a special and memorable occasion for all our players, the smiles show how much it is appreciated.

U6 Blue Yarrawarrah Tigers 20 Como Jannali 44

The Under 6 Blue team were up against another strong team this week and in the end the Como Crocs were just too fast on the outside for our Tiger Cubs to handle. Hayden was a tackling machine this week and his work all around the park inspired his team mates throughout the game, winning him the Spirit Award for his efforts and his hat trick of tries. Malachi was a deserved Player of the Game for his all round effort, making some important tackles and strong runs. Aston Gibbons had another strong game and chipped in with a try and Zachary May also scored a try and had a solid game. Hendrix Crawley also made some strong runs and on any other day could have scored a bagful of tries. Our Blues are growing in confidence and it feel like their first win is just around the corner.

U6 Yellow Yarrawarrah Tigers 36 Cronulla Caringbah 40

The Under 6 Yellow team came up against the undefeated Sharks this week and it was a real cracker of a game. Despite losing by a solitary try the Yellow Tiger Cubs can take plenty of confidence from another strong performance. Charlotte scored 4 tries, Hayden 3 and Marley and Hendrix chipped in with 1 each. Charlize was awarded the Player of the Game for some bone crunching front on tackles and her all round game kept the opposition on the back foot. Sonny and Jake were a constant menace attacking the Sharks defence at every opportunity and Kade Jones also had a strong game and won the Spirit Award for his enthusiasm and support play. This Yellow team is a match for anyone in this league and we look forward to next week's game and hopefully securing another win.

Yarrawarrah Tigers 16 Engadine Dragons 64

The Under 7 Red team despite another loss played their best game of the season against a very strong Dragons outfit. We were in the game for a long time but were unable to prevent the Dragons from scoring in their sets. The team always plays hard and never gives up and it is a quality that will see them gain a win soon. Flynn Bults was Player of the Game scoring 2 tries and being a constant source of inspiration for his team with his attacking runs and defensive tackles. Harrison Long and Aston Gibbons chipped in with a try apiece and Charlotte, Malachi and Hayden all contributed with strong support play.

Taren Point/Tigers 38 Aquinas Colts 12

The merged Tiger/Titans U9 team continued with last weeks form and had a strong win against a tough Colts team. The team is really starting to gel and have a strong defensive line and always look like scoring when on the attack. Angus Wilson had a great game and was a deserved Player of the Game scoring 4 tries and he was well supported by Logan Stephenson who scored 2 tries and Harlan Taylor and Jonathon Higgans who score 1 apiece. This weeks performance was a great team effort with everybody making a contribution to help the team. Harlan Taylor, Ethan Martin and Aiden May had strong games again and Logan Stephenson was a constant threat with his strong running and line breaks.

Yarrawarrah Tigers 30 Gymea Goriillas 6

The Under 10 team picked up their first win of the season at their first home game of the season. There were no hangovers from last weeks heavy defeat against De La Salle and the boys put on a strong display and a great performance to overpower a decent Gymea team. There were so many stand out performances from the boys today, everyone worked hard, suck together and tackled themselves into the ground to keep Gymea at bay. Kai Goody and Ethan Coleman made constant runs at the Gymea defence and Zac Porter and Hunter Loveday combined well to score a great try in the corner. Zac Porter was awarded Player of the Game for his passing and link up play and Ethan Coleman won the Spirit Award for his encouragement and strong attacking runs. This was a great performance by the team who could have gone into their shell after last weeks defeat.

Kurnell Stingrays 34 Bosco/Tigers 4

The U12 Silver team suffered another defeat against an enthusiastic Stingrays team that were tough and determined. The team played well and had their moments but just couldn't get on top of a well drilled opponent. Will Cleland was awarded the Player of the Game and had a strong performance against some strong and determined players. Liam Ogle and Hudson Wilcox also played well and tackled relentlessly as well as making some strong runs when given the chance. Hudson scored a try and the team will regroup and be better for having more playing time together.

Gymea Gorillas 0 Yarrawarrah Tigers 24

The U13 team also recorded their first win of the season away to Gymea. The team rediscovered some of last season swagger and in truth should have won by a bigger margin. Luke Fenton had a strong game in the centres and terrorised the Gymea left side defence with his strong runs. Kobi Porter was heavily involved in all of the Tigers best work and he was well supported by Alex Mantik, Rangisani Amoa-Stone and Zinzan Delaney-Fielding. Tries were shared by Kobi, Jacob, Albie, Rangi and Blake and we had the Gymea team constantly on the back foot with our strong running and quick back line moves. The boys will gain some confidence from this win and will hopefully go into the next game with some renewed belief.

3 wins this week and first wins for the U10's and U13's which is pleasing. Despite the results it was a fantastic day at Yarrawarrah Oval and the kids had great fun. Please check out the photos from each of the games in the gallery below, and many thanks again to all the parents for sharing your photos, so we could put the Match Day report together.
